Degree Requirements

  • You must complete 72 credit hours in the program
  • You must complete 6 Specializations (4 Core Specializations and 2 Focus Area Specializations)
  • You must complete 2 Specialization Capstones from any of the 6 Specializations you pursue
  • All courses in a specialization must be successfully completed to be eligible for the Specialization Capstone
  • You must complete the Program Capstone at the end of your last semester in the program.  Your are not eligible for the Program Capstone until you have completed 72 credit hours or are concurrently enrolled in your final courses that will bring you to 72 credit hours after completion. No exceptions will be made.
  • You must complete your program in 3 years or less from your first admission term.  Our program is designed to take 2-3 years to complete
  • You must meet the minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 2.75 in order to graduate.  You must also meet the minimum term GPA requirement of 2.75 in order to maintain good academic standing.

iMBA courses are offered during the following times each year:

  • Core 1, Core 2, Core 3, and Core 4 are offered twice a year, starting at the beginning of each spring and fall semester.
  • Focus Area courses are offered once per year, starting during the second 8 weeks of each spring.

The iMBA courses are conducted on two platforms: Coursera & Illinois Compass 2g.

  • You will complete course components in both platforms.
  • For each eight-week Illinois course, you will also complete two 4-week Coursera courses.
  • ALL elements of a course must be successfully completed by the deadlines noted in the course syllabus, found in the course homepage on Compass, in order to earn academic credit.

2 Year versus 3 Year Track

If you want to complete the program in 2 years, you must take 2 courses every 8 week session. Students on the 3 year track can take one course every 8 week session. However, you must double up on courses at least 4 times during the program.
