“The flexibility of the program is enormous. I can download content before I do traveling. In my job it’s about 90% travel. Whether it’s listening to downloaded lectures in the car, or on the plane, in the train. I always have something to do to be productive.

It has taught me a lot. What it means to use communication through online platforms. Learning how to foster teamwork through an online platform and how valuable that is in our ever-changing space of technology. Just being efficient and really communicating from a global scale with peers that are all around the world.”

Jackie Price Osafo

2018 Alumna

“Would I have had incredible relationships across waters, across continents with other folks? NO! If it were not for this program, I would not have had that. And really if you think about it, we should have that experience because here’s what the world represents if we think about diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. It represents people from all different backgrounds, so we should be having this experience. So the iMBA in my mind, was ahead of the curve.”

“I started researching more about what this program stands for and what they are trying to do. Not only the folks who are privileged but those who are coming from marginalized backgrounds can also get access to the same quality education that Gies is giving. That really shows a big purpose. Being a part of a school which has a goal which is much more ahead than just transactional business was something more meaningful to me.”

Matt Rivers

“What I did not expect is to build not only a number of relationships with other students in the program, but meaningful ones. People that I would say are good friends now, people I would call if I had a problem. People think about online programs as being something that you can just take a class online and check the box. I did not expect to build meaningful relationships during my time in the program that continue, these are still people that I connect with.”

Karen Finocchio Lubeck

2019 Alumna

“I didn’t expect to do an MBA. I landed in the MBA and realized that business practices are business practices and they exist everywhere in any environment. What I did learn is critical problem solving skills, and writing skills, and quantitative skills that are applicable no matter the environment. It was information and concepts and practice that I could immediately bring back into my job and not being in an industry where the MBA is the normal trajectory, it has been the most invaluable resource that I go to and lean into every day and you’d be remiss not to have those concepts to teach you to think out of the box and how to problem solve in different industries as opposed to just thinking of a normal, typical MBA path.”

Felipe Francato

Fall 2020 cohort

“I’m a big advocate for the online program. When people ask me about my experience the one thing I always say is that the on-demand content is very well done and the perfect complement to the online lectures. I love being able to watch the classes wherever I am and whenever I have time. The ability to go back and rewatch is critical to my learning experience. I think on-demand learning is something even in-person classes could do in the future. The historical learning model of hours spent in a classroom is not that efficient or productive when you compare it to on-demand, which is shorter, more organized, and well structured – you can retain more information this way.
