Joint Degree Program Overview

The fully online MBA/MSA degree provides you with a deep knowledge in business and accounting. The program is geared to professionals who want to hold senior finance or accounting leadership positions that require a combination of full-range business know-how plus strong leadership and management capabilities along with mastery of the fast-shifting and technologically intensifying field of accounting. It also gives you the technical accounting knowledge to be prepared for the Uniform CPA exam.

Program Details

This fully online joint MBA/MSA degree provides students both a well-rounded business education and the accounting knowledge needed to prepare for the Uniform CPA exam. Students will build and master skills in the following areas: technical accounting, business management, data analytics, finance, leadership, marketing, and strategy. The joint degree delivers a high-quality program that is accessible to a global audience. By earning both degrees simultaneously you can minimize time and cost.

Depending on elective course choices the total cost of the program ranges between US $38,384 and $45,184.
If you are interested in the Joint Degree Program, you will begin in one program and then move to curriculum of the other while you are a current student. You will fill out one application for the program you want to begin with and then work with your Academic Advisor once you are a student.
Admissions requirements are the same as the program with which you choose to begin. If you would like the iMSA program to be your primary curriculum first, you will need to meet those requirements.

Curriculum and Degree Requirements

The joint degree requires 92 credit hours divided between iMBA and iMSA courses, 60 for iMBA and 32 for iMSA. A minimum GPA of 3.0 must be maintained in order to remain in good standing. You must complete your program in 5 years or less from your first admission term. The joint degree program is designed to take 4 – 5 years to complete.

  • You must complete 60 credit hours in the program
  • You must complete 5 Specializations (4 Core Specializations and 1 Focus Area Specialization)
  • You must complete 2 Specialization Capstones from any of the 5 Specializations you pursue
  • All courses in a specialization must be successfully completed to be eligible for the Specialization Capstone
  • You must complete the Program Capstone at the end of your last semester in the program. You are not eligible for the Program Capstone until you have completed 60 credit hours or are concurrently enrolled in your final courses that will bring you to 60 credit hours after completion. No exceptions will be made.
  • You must complete 32 credit hours in the program
  • You must complete 20 credit hours in accountancy core courses
  • You must complete 12 credit hours in graduate elective courses. At least 4 credit hours must be in a non-accounting graduate courses
